Description of activities

As a member of the Central Student Health Service, you are part of an interdisciplinary field of activity that includes medical, psychological, psychosocial and special educational interventions. You are part of the school's learning mission and the overall work for good health in children / students. We work primarily in a preventive and promotional manner through interventions at both the organizational, group and individual level. Pupil health shall support pupils' development towards educational goals and remove obstacles to learning and actively promote equal rights and opportunities.

Work tasks

You will belong to the Central Pupil Health Service in the municipality. Your colleagues at the Central Student Health Service consist of another psychologist, counselors, school nurses, school doctors, special educators and administrators. Close and developing cooperation within the central student health service is an important and fundamental part of the work. Equally important is close collaboration with head teachers and school staff. The work as a school psychologist is varied and involves, among other things, guidance, consultation, continuing education initiatives, crisis work, investigation for reception in an adapted primary school and support for students, parents, work teams and teachers. Furthermore, you collaborate with social services and external actors such as BUP and habilitation. You are given good opportunities to influence and develop the content of the work / assignment in collaboration with our psychologist. As a school psychologist, you need to be able to take a great deal of responsibility for tasks and planning, which need to be adapted to the different needs of our schools for increased equivalence.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. Previous experience of student health and experience or training in schools is an advantage. We want you to have broad skills and a good ability to take on challenging tasks in a flexible and creative way. The ability to cooperate and to lead in process are important qualities. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Driving license and own car are required in the service.

When hiring - we will need an extract from the police's criminal record.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is an administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours/Duration

Vikariat 100% from 11/8 2025- 30/6 2026 or as agreed. It is a vacation position with flexitime agreement.
