Come and join us in the work with the introduction of a new social services act that will mean more preventive work and interventions at an early stage where social services will be based on evidence and proven experience.The children and young people's assistance unit consists of a head of operations, a coordinator, social secretaries for children and young people, family law, family home care, open care, LSS and family counseling.

Duties

As a family treatment worker in children and young people, you work family-oriented. You carry out change and treatment work with children, young people and their families based on assignments from investigating social workers. The aim is to increase protective factors and reduce risk factors. The content of the treatment work is individually adapted to the needs of the child/young person and is shaped together with the children, young people and their parents based on the assignment. You work both in teams and individually. The work takes place in the families' homes, on our premises or in other suitable places.
Our goal is for the families to receive support and help in their home environment as far as possible.

You work closely with social secretaries, other colleagues in the unit and other internal or external actors. The service is basically located during the day, but some flexibility with working hours is a requirement.

Qualifications

Social worker, behavioral scientist, social educator or equivalent education. You should have a good knowledge of current legislation and have a humanistic view of people. It is an advantage if you have previous experience of the work, have training in methods such as BBIC, MI, Sign of safety, Barnsamtal, Komet, Trappan or other relevant in-depth knowledge. You should be able to express yourself easily in speech and writing. You are easy to work independently but also enjoy collaborating in groups and being able to maintain good relationships.You are service-oriented, solution-focused and have a flexible attitude as the work can involve rapid changes. You need to be confident in yourself and have the ability to set limits and have a professional approach. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Driving license B is required.

In the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
