Description of activities
No two days are the same at a fire station in northern Sweden. If you want a variety of tasks and the opportunity to quickly apply your knowledge in damage prevention or remedial activities, then apply for this job! There are major industrial investments in northern Sweden, including in Gällivare municipality, which means exciting challenges for the rescue service in the dynamic risk picture we are in. The Gällivare rescue service is part of the rescue management system Räddsam Nord with a total of 19 member municipalities stretching from Nordmaling in the south to Kiruna in the north where about 500,000 inhabitants live and live. The workplace consists of about 30 employees. In addition, there are five rescue teams and a contractual industrial fire brigade. We work for a safer and more secure Gällivare!
Work tasks
The tasks primarily include more complex supervision according to LSO, supervision and permit assessment according to LBE and referral management based on PBL or other legislation. You will also work with our hazardous activities in Gällivare municipality, where you will have the opportunity to consider risks associated with oxidizing products, aircraft, mines with underground and surface operations and hydropower dams. You will be part of the rescue service's management team.
You will be involved in staffing the incident commander function. There is also the possibility of serving in one of the joint command functions (commanding officer, regional incident commander or duty officer) within Räddsam Nord if you are deemed suitable based on competence and your personal qualities. You will be responsible for one of the rescue service's operational areas within our overall operations, where you will drive development, follow up and quality assure your area. During an interview, we want to know which areas of the emergency services sphere interest you the most! Collaboration within the municipal group but also in collaborative constellations within Räddsam Nord is an important part of driving the business forward together in the collaboration area where you may be part of project or other working groups.
Qualifications
Your education is a fire engineer degree with RUB or other Swedish or foreign education that the employer considers relevant. Experience of working in the municipal rescue service or if you have worked with structural fire protection is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities where we see that you are responsible, communicative and have an eye for seeing development opportunities. We also see that you have the ability to work in a structured way from start to finish, good collaboration skills and a creative spirit. The position requires you to have a B driving license. The position may involve security clearance. You must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Type of employment/working hours
Permanent employment. Full time. Probationary period may be applied. The basis for the service is daytime duty and in the long term in combination with readiness in a management function as an operation leader. If you are deemed suitable based on your skills and personal qualities for one of the joint management functions, the position may also include such combined duty.
