We need another firefighter for one of our four shift teams. At Gällivare Rescue Service, you work as one of 5 players in a small organization. We have a large geographical area to handle, everything from mines to mountains and vast mountain forests. Most of the municipality's inhabitants live in the urban area of Gällivare, where our full-time station is also located, centrally located in the town center. In our villages we have five rescue teams that help us by being first on the scene and able to help initially.
We handle about 400 alarms per year.
We also have cooperation with our neighboring municipalities, and the industrial fire departments in the area.

Work tasks

As a firefighter with us, you have the opportunity for responsibility in operational areas based on your interest and suitability. You will work with accident prevention work such as supervision, information and training, so we want you to be good at talking to people and building trust.
When the alarm goes off, you are one of us who must be able to handle the incident as quickly as possible in a professional and efficient manner. To do this, we need to train and maintain our vehicles and equipment. We work shifts with work every other weekend.
We are looking for people who have an interest, willingness and ability to help others. You need to be able to exercise judgment and behave calmly, steadily and with control in stressful situations. The job requires practical, physical and social skills.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. It is important that you have a positive attitude, are a good team player and can also work independently.
Pre-employment interviews and work-related and physical tests will be carried out.

Merits

MSB's training SMO (Protection against accidents) or equivalent training
Driving license CE
Language skills in other languages eg Sami, Finnish, Meänkieli
Medical training for emergency care, chainsaw card, other relevant vocational training or experience from previous relevant work.

Requirements
Driving license minimum B
Approved treadmill test according to AFS 2007: 7 (not older than 3 months) is attached to the application.
Good swimming skills minimum Guldbojen certificate is attached to the application
Ability to work at high altitudes and not have a predisposition to claustrophobia.
Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

- Certificate of swimming skills according to Guldbojen, no older than 1 year
- Certificate of completed treadmill test according to AFS 2019: 3 (Appendix 11, point 5), no older than 3 months
