Description of operations
Gällivare Rescue Service consists of a full-time station with four shift teams, incident commander, fire engineer, unit manager and rescue manager. In the municipality there are also five rescue guards and an industrial fire brigade.A job in Gällivare municipality should be characterized by job satisfaction, commitment and respect for the equal value of all people. Work tasks
As a firefighter with us, you have the opportunity for responsibility in operational areas based on your interests and suitability. You will work with accident prevention work such as supervision, information and training, therefore we want you to be good at talking to people and building trust.
Requirements
We are looking for you who are a trained firefighter. We are looking for you who have an interest, willingness and ability to help others. You need to be able to show judgment and behave calmly, steadily and controlled in stressful situations. The profession requires practical, physical and social skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. It is important that you have a positive attitude, are a good team player and can also work independently. Pre-employment interviews and work-related and physical tests will be carried out. The physical tests consist of a work-related course conducted at Gällivare Rescue Service. We work shifts with work every other weekend.
Preferred:
MSB's education SMO (Protection against accidents) or equivalent education
Driving license qualification C/CE
Language skills in other languages e.g. Sami, Finnish, Meänkieli
Medical training for emergency care, chainsaw card, other relevant vocational training or experience from previous relevant work.
Driving license minimum B
Approved treadmill test according to AFS 2019: 3 (Appendix 11, point 5), not older than 3 months, attached to the application.
Good swimming skills. Guldbojen certificate is attached to the application.
Ability to work at heights and not have a tendency to claustrophobia.
Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
