Your position will be located at our full-time station in central Gällivare. We also have several rescue guards and a contracted industrial fire brigade that cooperate with us. Our responsibilities span a large geographical area, from mines to mountains and vast mountain forests. Most of the municipality's inhabitants live in Gällivare urban area where our full-time station is also located, we handle about 400 alarms per year.
Gällivare rescue service works closely with other rescue services in Norr- and Västerbotten with, among other things, joint management functions, which is an important part of driving the business forward.

Duties
The duties include working with your shift team and in collaboration with other actors and the rest of society, acting in the event of accidents and crises to best deal with what has arisen. You will work as an officer and supervisor where you lead your own group of 4 firefighters. You are responsible for the group's competence and exercises, you are expected to have a leading role in the shift team's work to achieve the operational goals. Based on your qualifications, you will also have your own areas of responsibility where we expect you to drive development forward. The work includes preventive, damage remediation and accident follow-up work. Tasks may include supervision under the Act on Protection against Accidents and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods, permits for handling flammable goods, response planning, internal/external training and response evaluation. Tasks in collaboration with other rescue services may also be added.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a Force Leader training, LK 1 (management course 1) or other older equivalent education, or a fire engineer degree with additional training in rescue service for fire engineers (RUB). You have good physical fitness and are able to swim. Further training in rescue management B, supervision and handling flammable goods is an advantage. The employer also offers further training in the field of operations.
You must have the ability to be a clear leader, be easy to collaborate and have a willingness to participate in the development of the business and the employees. You should also be structured and able to work independently. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Gällivare municipality strives for diversity and an even gender distribution.
