Business description

Do you want to be part of something exciting, educational and at the same time support vulnerable adults in society? We can offer you a varied and challenging job with good development opportunities and the opportunity to gain knowledge. In Gällivare municipality, we have a unit with all exercise of authority in the areas of social services.

The assistance unit underwent an organizational change in 2020 where an operation with two heads of operations was reintroduced, one for the group of children and young people and one for the adult group. In addition, it was also decided to hire a coordinator within each group. Are you our new head of operations who wants to be involved in continuing to develop our organization?

Tasks

We are now looking for a driven, development-oriented head of operations for the children and young people group. Together with us, you have the opportunity to make a difference for those we are for.

As head of operations for the Children and Young People group, you will lead social workers (in children and young people and family law), a coordinator, an outpatient care group, LSS officers and family counselors. In total, you have about 20 employees in your group. Your task will be to plan, lead, develop and follow up the activities. You work towards set goals and are also responsible for leading, directing and following up the activities in line with current legislation and established goals. Together with the coordinator, you ensure legally secure processing.

You are part of the Social Administration's management team and are directly subordinate to the head of administration. In collaboration with the management team, you take responsibility for your unit but also based on the whole within the Assistance Unit and have a cross-administrative holistic approach.

Based on your role, you must have the ability to work both strategically and operationally as a manager. Your responsibilities include work management, personnel and work environment issues, budget responsibility, method and business development, and acting as a support and sounding board for the administrators in their daily work. Collaboration and cooperation with other administrations and authorities, both internally and externally, is a natural part of the job. To support your mission, there are municipality-wide functions such as personnel and finance, as well as cooperation with the administration's other managers.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a social worker degree. It is meritorious if you have experience of supervising a group in the exercise of authority and if you have previously worked as a manager. You have knowledge and experience of BBIC and are well grounded in the area's legislation. As a person, you are goal- and result-oriented and can reprioritize work in the event of changing conditions or needs. We also see that you are energetic, dare to stand for decisions made and have the ability to make them understandable to employees through clear communication and influence them in a positive direction.

You are driven by developing new ways of working that are adapted to the needs of our users, the conditions of the outside world and society's resources. You see opportunities for change and lead from a holistic view of the Assistance Unit, as in this role you will work closely with your closest managerial colleague (head of the adult group) but also with other managers and external actors. It is therefore important that you see opportunities and are motivated by working in collaboration with others.
