Business description

The Department of Disability is an area within the social services that provides support and services to adults and children / young people. Within the department there are seven different areas with activities and interventions within LSS and social support/social psychiatry.

Duties

As head of unit, you are responsible for the operational activities according to the goals set by the social board for the activities. You work on the basis of common policy programs, guidelines, laws and regulations and overall strategic plans. You are part of the department's management team and report directly to the Head of Department. In cooperation with the management team, you will be responsible for your own activities, work environment, staff and budget, as well as working towards set objectives. You will lead, coordinate, develop the activities, follow up and evaluate the work in your area. You have support in your assignment from educators and supervisors as well as municipality-wide functions such as the personnel department and the finance department, etc.

Qualifications

You have a university or college education that is suitable for the assignment and it is meritorious that you have experience of leadership in LSS and / or social services, or other experience that the employer considers suitable for the assignment. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
