The Department of Disabilities within the social services offers support and services to both adults and children / young people. Here we work to create an inclusive and safe society. The department is responsible for interventions within the Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Disabilities (LSS) and social support/social psychiatry. The department is responsible for activities such as daily activities, housing with special service, SoL housing, short-term housing for children, personal assistance and leisure activities within LSS - a broad and dynamic business where we together create security and shape the future
The position is subordinate to the Head of Department for Disabilities and within the department there are seven other managerial colleagues who are all located at Vändpunkten in Gällivare. Your activities will consist of several workplaces that are scattered in different locations within the municipality.
Duties
As a unit manager, you will have a key role in our organization. The work means that you have operational, financial, personnel and work environment responsibility based on budget frameworks and delegation. You are responsible for day-to-day operations and work towards clear goals set by the social welfare committee. Planning, management and follow-up are carried out in accordance with current directives and guidelines to ensure quality and results. You will be part of the department's management team and work closely with other managers and staff to create successful solutions. With the support of experienced educators, administrators and cross-municipal functions, you will be given the best conditions to succeed. You lead and develop the business to achieve high quality and work from a user focus.
The Department of Disabilities is a department that is growing at the same time as the entire Social Administration is in a change process, which means that you will lead a business in change.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who value and have a great commitment to leadership and development. You have a relevant college or university education and preferably experience of leadership in LSS, social services or similar. Or other experience that the employer deems suitable for the assignment.

In this role, you are expected to have knowledge or familiarity with the legislation that governs the organization. You enjoy challenges and leading change and are comfortable making decisions. We assume that you have good computer skills as we use various digital business systems as well as good knowledge of Swedish, both oral and written.
In the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
