Description of activities

The Social Administration conducts statutory activities with the support of the Social Services Act, the Health Care Act and the Act on Support and Services for Certain Disabled Persons. The social administration shall, on the basis of democracy, promote people's economic and social security, equality in living conditions and active participation in community life, but also provide good care, health care and services to the elderly, people with disabilities and others who need social support.

The Social Administration consists of the Assistance Unit, the Department of Health and Social Care, the Department of Functional Support, the Department of Home Care and the Management Support Organization.

The position of unit manager is located in the home care service's operations.

Duties

As unit manager, you work close to the business and operationally with a clear responsibility for users, employees, finances, work environment and business development within your business. You will lead and manage the business through a results-oriented approach based on political goal management and self-monitoring.

You are part of the Department of Home Care's management team and are directly subordinate to the head of department. In collaboration with the management team, you are responsible for your unit but also for the whole department.

You work for the satisfaction of users and the well-being of employees. You are responsible for ensuring that efforts under the Social Services Act are implemented based on assistance decisions and quality requirements.

Qualifications

You have:

  • university or college education that is suitable for the assignment, is familiar with the legislative area that governs our field of activity.
  • experience in leadership, is responsible and used to working independently and goal-oriented.
  • good collaboration skills with colleagues, relatives and other professional categories.
  • is goal and result-oriented and has the ability to find new solutions and opportunities in the business.
  • basic computer skills and experience of working with different types of IT programs to support your work. Meritorious is knowledge of the programs lifecare, Pulsen Combine, Tes & TimeCare.
  • Driving license: B

Strong emphasis is placed on personal suitability.Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is an administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
