Business description

The Social Administration conducts statutory activities with the support of the Social Services Act, the Health Care Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons. The Social Administration consists of the Assistance Unit, the Department of Care and Care (special housing for the elderly, the Department of Functional Support and the Department of Home Care.

We are looking for deputy unit managers for the summer of 2025.

Work tasks

The main task is to ensure that users receive the care, care and service they are granted.As a unit manager in the Social Administration, you are responsible for the operations according to the goals set by the Social Board for the operations and according to common policy programs, guidelines, laws and regulations. You lead and distribute the work in your area and are responsible for finances, work environment and personnel. You report directly to the Head of Department. To support your mission, you have supervisors and unit manager colleagues as well as support from cross-municipal functions, such as personnel and financial officers.

Qualifications

You have:

• a college/university education suitable for the assignment
• experience in work management
• ability and interest in managing finances and operations in a holistic perspective

You have the ability to meet people and create trust and security within the organization and towards our users. We want you to see opportunities, be open to new ways of thinking and have the ability to enthuse your colleagues. The position requires you to have leadership and collaboration skills. Training in social services, human resources and finance would also be an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Driving license required

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
