Hakkas skola in the village of Hakkas is a spacious primary school in the countryside of Gällivare municipality. It includes a preschool class, after-school care center and grades 1-9. The school has about 70 pupils from Hakkas and the surrounding villages, with some in-migration. The school has close access to a swimming pool and large natural areas that are used in all the pupils' activities.
Emmaskolan i Mettä Dokkas is a growing primary school in the countryside of Gällivare municipality. It includes a preschool class, after-school care center and grades 1-6. The school has about 50 pupils from Dokkas, Mettä Dokkas, Leipojärvi and surrounding villages, with a steady influx. Adjacent to the school is the newly built Emma preschool with two departments. The school has close access to large natural areas that are used in all the pupils' activities.
Hakkas skola and Emmaskolan are small schools where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!". We are constantly developing teaching and our learning environments so that students are given the best possible conditions for learning.
Myranskolan has about 150 students from preschool class to year 6, as well as an after-school department. The school is located in Koskullskulle. At Myranskolan, there is a teacher responsible for teaching and a class mentor who mainly works towards the social parts of the curriculum in each class in grades 1-6. The after-school program is a complement to the school where students' abilities are developed through various forms of expression and based on the students' interests. The school also has a special needs teacher, school counselor and school nurse who work together in teams for the benefit of the students.
Hakka's school has been granted an ERASMUS+ accreditation for 2021-2027. This means continuous cooperation projects with other schools around Europe with the opportunity for travel within the service for all participating educators. The goals of the ERASMUS+ work are to collaborate with other schools in Europe that have similar challenges as we have, to strengthen students' motivation to read several languages, to further develop distance learning and to give students and teachers the opportunity to look at their own hometown from new perspectives.
Work tasks
The position is permanent at 100%. You will be employed as a teacher, permanently if you are licensed, otherwise on a fixed-term basis according to the School Act. You are responsible for teaching music in grades 1-9. You are part of a team and are responsible for all students' learning together with other educators in the team. We distribute services across all grades based on legitimation and adapt the distribution of teaching to your qualifications. There is the possibility to combine with other subjects and to adapt the degree of service.
Qualifications
Teacher's degree with eligibility in music for grades 1-9.
Extracts from the criminal record for work in schools are a requirement.

You are independent, responsible and have the ability to take your own initiatives. We develop our work through pedagogical discussions and collegial learning and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
