Description of activities

The Department of Home Care includes home care services in ordinary housing and licensed health professionals for home care.

The Department of Home Care is responsible for interventions performed by nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists in both ordinary housing (home care) and special housing.

Duties and responsibilities

As an occupational therapist, you must have good knowledge in the field of assistive devices and to investigate and assess the need for occupational therapy interventions. You are responsible for the occupational therapy part of the rehabilitation efforts in both ordinary and special housing in the areas of elderly and disability care and psychiatry. Your professional role includes prescribing and testing of assistive devices, as well as conducting ADL assessments. Supervising and training nursing staff in general daily activities is an important part of the job. As a licensed professional, there is also a responsibility for record keeping for the interventions that are planned, implemented and evaluated.

Qualifications

You are a licensed occupational therapist. You enjoy working in teams, are flexible and see solutions to problems.

You have a holistic approach and a good ability to analyze and reflect from different perspectives and can find solutions depending on the needs and situation. Your cooperation with colleagues, users and the network around the user is good and you have a responsive, coaching and supportive approach. Your ability to plan and prioritize is good, both independently and with the support of your colleagues and immediate manager.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, experience from work in the municipality as an occupational therapist is meritorious.

B driving license is required.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours/duration

Full-time, 100% TV employment.
