Business description

The position is located in the Property and Service Department within the Public Works and Technology Administration. The administration has overall responsibility for the municipality's investment projects, spatial planning, and operation of municipal facilities such as water, waste, fiber and streets. In addition, the administration is responsible for land and development activities as well as the management of the municipality's operational properties.The Property and Service Department is responsible for the municipality's properties, cleaning, housing adaptations, transport coordination and car pool. The department also participates in many projects in the construction of municipal premises. The municipality's property portfolio currently consists of approximately 150,000 m², mainly business premises such as schools, nursing homes, leisure facilities and industrial buildings.

Duties

The work includes, among other things:

  • Renting new premises and negotiating with tenants.
  • Conduct analyses and optimize the properties.
  • Document, monitor and maintain contact regarding regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct financial follow-up and environmental measures.
  • Prepare decision-making documents and calculations for investments, for example in the case of business adaptations.
  • Prepare cases for political decisions.
  • Act as a client in relation to contractors.
  • Participate in inspection procedures, insurance work and investigation work.
  • Manage invoices and other tasks that occur within the service.
  • Administer systems such as Pythagoras and ARX.

You are directly subordinate to the head of the department for property and service and work together with the manager and colleagues to achieve established goals and results within the municipal operations. You will respond to queries from internal and external customers, citizens and councils in the field. The service also includes participation in project work as well as producing documentation and participating in procurements.

Qualifications

You have a university degree or other relevant education for the assignment and / or experience that can be assessed as equivalent. We consider it a merit if you have experience of working in operations, maintenance and/or planning in the field of real estate, as well as experience of working in a politically governed environment. As you will have a planning and coordinating role, it is important that you feel comfortable meeting and communicating with both internal and external contacts, and have good interpersonal skills. The work requires independence and confidence in making your own decisions. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
