In Gällivare municipality, we have a unit with all authority exercise in the areas of social services. The assistance unit has implemented an organizational change where an operation with two operational managers has been introduced, one for the group of children and young people and one for the group of adults, in addition we have a coordinator in each group. The adult unit consists of social workers who investigate substance abuse, social psychiatry/social support, domestic violence and employment/self-sufficiency. We also handle financial assistance, estates and elderly care. The adult unit includes outpatient care for adult substance abuse. We are now looking for a person who wants to work with the exercise of authority in addiction. A permanent position of 100% where emergency duty is included.

Tasks

The work tasks mainly consist of the exercise of authority in addiction / social support, the Social Services Act and the Care of Addicts Act (LVM). Your main task is to investigate and assess the needs of individuals with substance abuse problems. You decide on interventions to meet the needs of the individual to be able to live a sober/drug-free life. The work involves qualified investigative work characterized by good treatment, advice, well-founded decisions and high legal certainty.

Qualifications
You have a social worker degree. As a social worker, you should have a good knowledge of current legislation and have a humanistic view of people. You are able to work independently, but also enjoy working in a team and maintaining good relationships. You are service-oriented, solution-focused and have a flexible attitude as the work can involve urgent decisions. You need to be confident in yourself and have the ability to set limits and have a professional approach. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability for the assignment. Good habit of documenting and expressing yourself in speech and writing.

Driving license B required

Additional:

  • Experience of work / authority exercise with the target group of adults with abuse and dependence.
  • ASI training
  • Lvm training

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Since February 1, 2022, the assistance unit has introduced a reduction in working hours, with 2.5 hours shorter working hours per week for full-time work, which means a weekly working time of 35.91. We invest in close leadership and coordinators for weekly supervision.
