Business description

Gällivare municipality is undergoing a major social transformation which means an exciting development for the community and for the school, we are moving communities, we are building new schools, repairing others, new multiarena and new housing will be ready in the near future.
We have for a number of years worked with school structure to gather the upper secondary school to one school. We also have schools for grades F-6 of varying sizes in the community and in the countryside.

Hedskolan is a nice F-6 school and adapted primary school with about 500 students, located in a residential area close to the center. The proximity to both the forest and ski trails is tangible and is used extensively by students and teachers in teaching and at breaks. The work teams are divided into stages and grades with close cooperation around all our students. The atmosphere is characterized by openness and curiosity about new ways of working. We place great emphasis on pedagogical discussions and collegial learning, which is the driving force in our development work. The school's profile is movement and outdoor life.

Work tasks

As a student assistant in the adapted primary school, you are responsible for supporting students during the school day based on the individually established goals and plans. You assist and provide care to the student in the activities that take place both in school and in leisure time in close interaction with educators and the student's guardians.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an upper secondary education or other education that the employer considers equivalent. We are looking for you with experience of working with young people with intellectual disabilities, NPF, or work as a student assistant - preferably at an adapted primary school - is an advantage. As a person, you should have a present and responsive approach to students' different needs, be a clear leader and have good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible and able to take your own initiative. We develop our work through pedagogical conversations and collegial learning and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Extracts from the police's criminal record are a requirement.
