Hakkas school in the village of Hakkas is a spacious elementary school in the countryside of Gällivare municipality. It covers pre-school classes, after-school classes and primary school years 1-9. The school has 80 students who come from the Hakkas and the surrounding villages. The school has close access to bathhouses and large natural areas that are used in all the students' activities. Hakka's school is a small school where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!" We want to give students knowledge and the knowledge to learn so they can create their own future. We constantly develop the teaching and our learning environments so that the students are given the best possible conditions for learning.
Hakka's school has been granted an ERASMUS+ accreditation for 2021-2027. This means continuous collaborative projects with other schools around Europe with the possibility of travel within the service for all participating educators. The goals of the work with ERASMUS+ are; to collaborate with other schools in Europe that have similar challenges to ours, to strengthen students' motivation to read several languages, to further develop distance learning and to give students and teachers the opportunity to see their own home region from new perspectives.
Job duties
The service is at 100% until further notice. You will be employed as a teacher, indefinitely if you are licensed, otherwise for a limited term per semester according to the School Act. You are the responsible mentor for class 5-6 and teach the class in Swedish, mathematics, NO and technology. You are part of a work team and are responsible for all students' learning together with other educators in the work team. We allocate service benefits across all grades based on identification and adapt the distribution of tuition according to your qualifications. It is possible to combine with other subjects and to adjust the degree of service.
Qualifications
Teacher's degree with authorization for grades 5-6. We are looking for you who have a present and responsive approach to students' various needs, are a clear leader and have good cooperation skills. You are independent, responsible and easily take your own initiative. We develop our work through educational conversations and collegial learning and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working. Within the framework of the national minority language act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
