About the position

At the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Institute of Social Science and Counseling, Section for Child Welfare, Social Work and Protective Nursing at Lillehammer, there is a vacancy for a 100% permanent position as Associate Professor.

The position is primarily linked to the bachelor's degree in child welfare / child welfare educator education; a social science professional education that qualifies for work in the social field of child welfare in a broader sense. The education is oriented towards the target group of children, young people and families in vulnerable life situations, and the applicant must have education at doctoral level in the relevant subject area.


Responsibilities and duties

  • plan, develop and implement the study's teaching and learning activities in line with the adopted qualification goals for the education.
  • plan, develop and implement research and development projects within relevant subject areas
  • resolve academic-administrative tasks

Other tasks may be added to the position as needed.


Qualifications

Formal competence:

  • You must qualify for the position of associate professor in a relevant child welfare/social work field in accordance with the requirements stated in Regulations to the Universities and University Colleges Act
  • Emphasis is placed on knowledge of and experience in using student-active forms of learning and assessment in relevant subject areas.
  • Good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian/Scandinavian and English.
  • Satisfactory digital skills related to student-related work and current research and development work.

Experience skills:

  • Experience from work in child welfare-related fields
  • Competence in professional work with vulnerable children and young people in various arenas that complements the overall competence of the study's subject group
  • Research merits in the last 3 years will be emphasized

Pedagogical competence:
Documented practical pedagogical education and experience from teaching and supervision at university and university college level, cf. Regulations to the Universities and University Colleges Act. Applicants who cannot document pedagogical competence at the time of appointment are obliged to complete the university college's course in higher education pedagogy or equivalent within two years of appointment.

Personal qualities:

  • Good collaboration skills and high work capacity
  • Ability to communicate well with students and colleagues
  • Flexibility and independence are emphasized
  • Interest in educational development is a prerequisite

The assessment of which candidate is best qualified is based on an overall assessment of education, experience and personal suitability and other qualification requirements as formulated in the advertisement, in addition to motivation for the position.

If there is no applicant who satisfies the competence requirements for permanent employment, a temporary appointment may be made for up to one year in a lower position, cf. section 7-3 of the Universities and University Colleges Act

The position and associated tasks must be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for government employees, including the Act on Control of Exports of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology, etc. Candidates who, after assessment of the application and attachments, conflict with the criteria in the latter act, will not be able to take up the position at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. Necessary approvals must be maintained throughout the employment relationship.
