About the position

At the Department of Social Science and Counseling, study site Kongsvinger, there is a vacant 50% permanent position as senior lecturer within the Bachelor of Social Work Nursing. The nursing education is a knowledge-based and practice-oriented health and social professional education that qualifies for the practice of health, care and welfare services in a lifecycle perspective. INN has one full-time and two part-time programs in social work nursing, one of which is conducted in Kongsvinger.

The social work nursing program at INN aims to educate "tomorrow's social workers" with a competence profile that is in line with the needs of the practice field. We are a very practice-oriented education where students and staff involve users, services and the field in an active collaboration. We emphasize educating professionally reflected, relationship and action competent social workers. The nursing program seeks a person with knowledge and expertise in the breadth of nursing or health and social work areas.

The Department of Social Science and Guidance offers three bachelor's programs: BA Child Welfare, BA Social Work and BA Social Work Nursing, and three master's programs: Master in Interdisciplinary Work with Children, Youth and Families, Master in Health Nursing and Master in Career Guidance. In addition, a number of individual courses, year-long studies and continuing education are offered in social sciences and guidance.

Research at the department focuses on social science topics related to children and young people, organization and management of welfare services, disability, welfare innovation, user participation, career guidance, relationships and communication in the meeting between professionals and users. The department has 82 employees.


Responsibilities and duties

  • Research and development work in the subject area
  • Planning and implementation of lectures and student-active teaching programs, individual and group supervision, seminar management, assessments of work requirements and grading
  • Collaborate and involve users, services and the field in their work tasks.
  • Recruitment of internships and follow-up of students in practice
  • Academic and administrative responsibility for individual courses at the bachelor of social work
  • Participation in the development of the program in line with local and national guidelines
  • Development of applications for external funding of research and development projects

The position will mainly be linked to the part-time education at the college center in Kongsvinger, but will also be closely linked to the academic environment around the other social work studies at the Lillehammer campus.

Other tasks can be added to the position, and tasks in other fields of study at the department must be expected when needed.


Qualifications

Formal qualifications:

  • You must qualify for the position of senior lecturer in the relevant subject area in accordance with the requirements set out in the Regulations to the Universities and University Colleges Act.
  • Emphasis is placed on knowledge of and experience in using student-active forms of learning and assessment in relevant subject areas.
  • Preferably authorization as a social worker
  • Good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian/Scandinavian and English.
  • Satisfactory digital competence related to student-related work and current research and development work.

Experience competence:

  • Good knowledge and experience from the field of social work and it is desirable that the person hired has experience of the practice field in the Kongsvinger region.
  • Competence and experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
    • Environmental therapeutic work, habilitation and rehabilitation
    • Health promotion and health care
    • Inclusion, participation and rights
    • Critical thinking, knowledge-based practice and innovation
    • Profession, ethics and collaboration

Pedagogical competence:
Documented practical pedagogical education and experience from teaching and supervision at university and university college level, cf. Regulations to the Universities and University Colleges Act. Applicants who are unable to document pedagogical competence at the time of appointment are obliged to complete the university's course in pedagogy or equivalent within two years of appointment.
