About the position

The Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences has a vacancy for a temporary 100% position as a study counselor at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences - Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (HHS), study site Lillehammer.

HHS is the largest faculty at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and has a total of approx. 7000 students. We have a broad study portfolio, with operations in Lillehammer, Rena and Kongsvinger. The position is part of the faculty's study administration, which currently consists of 14 employees in Rena and Lillehammer.

As a study counselor, you will be part of a team with other study counselors in the faculty, as well as a larger subject team across the faculties in the college. You will work closely with our students, academic environments and other study administration at the faculty and the college in general.

The position is located in the Section for Study Administrative Services at the School of Business, Economics and Law and reports to the head of section.

The position is a temporary position 100%, with a duration of 1 year. Early start is desirable.


Responsibilities and duties

  • Study guidance and student follow-up within the faculty's studies
  • Case management of student and study matters in relation to regulations, such as processing applications for approval of external education, facilitation of the study situation, leave of absence, study rights, etc.
  • General study administrative work, such as adjustment of education plans, registration and control of study administrative data, issuance of diplomas, etc.
  • Contribute to quality and development work, including, for example, curriculum work
  • Processing of the faculty's cases to the Student Affairs Board, including cheating and complaints about formal errors, can be added to the position according to relevant practice and qualifications.

Other tasks and/or changes to the position may be made as needed.


Qualifications

Requirements for competence and experience:

  • Relevant education from university or college, at least equivalent to bachelor's level. Prior learning with high relevance to the tasks in question can compensate for parts of the educational requirement.
  • It is also desirable to have relevant experience, preferably within public administration.
  • Experience with case management and supervision will count positively.
  • You must have good digital skills and good system understanding.
  • You must have good presentation skills in Norwegian and English, both written and oral.

Personal qualities:

  • Can work independently, structured and goal-oriented.
  • Have great work capacity, implementation ability and are flexible in solving tasks.
  • Can apply laws and regulations in practical work.
  • Has good cooperation and communication skills and is service-minded.
  • Can handle hectic periods with extra work pressure and can handle several tasks at the same time.

The assessment of which candidate is best qualified will be a comprehensive assessment of education, experience and personal suitability, in addition to motivation and other qualification requirements as formulated in the ad text.

The position and associated tasks must be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for government employees, including the Act on Control of Exports of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology, etc. Candidates who, after assessment of the application and attachments, conflict with the criteria in the latter act, will not be able to take up the position at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. Necessary approvals must be maintained throughout the employment."
