About the position

At Kriminalomsorgen Innlandet department of lower security Valdres, there are vacancies for 1078 officers/summer temps for 2025.

The summer vacation period with us is weeks 26 - 33. The working time is fully continuous rotation with three - split shifts.
Theoretical and practical training will be carried out by all temporary workers in weeks 24 and 25, this training is mandatory. The training is paid.

An officer must have the ability to maintain peace, order and security in the prison, the ability to think in terms of security, setting boundaries and guiding the inmates.

Tasks

• assistance and guidance to inmates in relation to the execution of sentences
• maintain peace, order and security in the prison
• perform daily tasks in the department
• assistance and guidance to inmates in relation to the execution of sentences

Module-based training in security is mandatory.

Education and experience

You must have

• you must meet the requirements for admission to the Norwegian Correctional Service's college and education center KRUS which you can find here: www.krus.no/opptakskrav. Approved study competence from upper secondary school - general study competence (GENS).
  Applicants who are 25 years of age or older and who have the subjects Norwegian, English and social studies at a level equivalent to general study competence, can be assessed if they are qualified on the basis of prior learning
• good knowledge and experience in the use of ICT systems or tools
• good oral and written presentation skills
• driving license class B, manual transmission

• ability for safety thinking and boundary setting
• ability to guide and motivate people in a difficult situation
• flexible and good social skills
• personal suitability will be emphasized
