The Department of Blood Banking and Medical Biochemistry Elverum has 36.5 positions, of which about 20 are on call. The section covers the fields of blood collection, immunohematology, pre-analysis, hematology/coagulation/blood gas, clinical chemistry/hormones, urines, automation and allergy. The blood bank performs whole blood draws, plasmapheresis and is responsible for ensuring that the hospital has sufficient stocks of blood products at all times and that patients are pre-transfusion screened. Medical Biochemistry receives samples from the primary health service, takes samples at the hospital and covers the primary health service and the local hospital's need for analyses, and is the only laboratory in Innlandet Hospital with an automation solution.

We need motivated, interested and professionally skilled people who can consider a summer job in our section. The summer workers will initially only work day shifts with tasks within pre-analysis (sample collection, patient reception and sample reception/shipping), but candidates who show great interest/commitment and have experience/competence may be relevant for training in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, tapping (blood bank) and possibly late shifts on weekdays.
The number of positions to be filled will depend on the applicants' skills, when they can start and how long they can work. But there are 2-3 positions to be filled for a period of about 2.5 months (the summer vacation period runs from mid-June to the end of August). For students, adjustments can be made to a certain extent to both start and end dates in relation to their studies. Any desire for vacation must be stated in the application.

After the application deadline, a public list of applicants will be prepared.
