We are looking for an experienced and business-driven Strategic Buyer with at least 5 years of experience in purchasing. If you have a sharp analytical mind, are a skilled negotiator and have a passion for creating long-term value, this could be the role for you!
About the role
As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that optimize our purchasing processes and strengthen supplier partnerships. You will work closely with internal buyers and external suppliers to ensure that we achieve the highest possible quality and value. The role requires you to combine an analytical approach with an ability to build long-term relationships. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the achievement of budget targets, which includes reporting results directly to the Purchasing Manager.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement and embed purchasing strategies for assigned categories to achieve short and long term savings targets.
- Negotiate and conclude long-term contracts and lead supplier development and relationship management.
- Conduct supplier and material benchmarking to ensure competitiveness.
- Perform supplier market analysis and risk analysis as a basis for strategic decisions.
- Ensure that budgets are met and targets are achieved within responsible categories.
- Coordinate business activities to make purchasing decisions that contribute to high quality and value.
- Maintain and update MPS systems to support material planning.
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, you will be a skilled negotiator with a good strategic eye. You have strong analytical skills and are able to see both the details and the big picture of procurement processes. You are also communicative and collaborative, which allows you to navigate smoothly between different stakeholders.
We are looking for you who have:
- At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, preferably in industry or manufacturing.
- Good experience in negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to analyze and optimize purchasing processes, focusing on both cost and value.
- Experience in developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
- Strong administrative skills and good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel.
- Experience in working with MPS systems and budget responsibility is an advantage.
