The department is responsible for preschool, after-school care, primary school and adapted primary school grades F-9. In total, 120 people work here, working together to create a learning environment for our pupils. As an employee in our organization, you are involved in giving our children and young people the right conditions for learning and developing. Within the Children and Education Department, development work is currently underway to achieve increased goal achievement, form a sustainable organization with a good working environment that can meet the challenges facing preschool and school. We see a need to strengthen our management organization and are therefore looking for an assistant principal for our preschools. There are four preschools in the municipality, located in Jokkmokk, Vuollerim and Porjus. Porjus and Vuollerim are our smallest units with 1 and 2 departments respectively and are located about 4 miles from the urban area. Two preschools with 3 and 5 departments are located in the town. Our priority development areas for this academic year include developing mathematics teaching and further developing the scientific approach. WORK TASKS In your role as assistant principal, you are directly subordinate to the principal and will work in close collaboration with the department's management team. Together you will lead the units towards national and municipal goals. You have shared responsibility for operations, staff, quality and finances, with the principal having the main responsibility. Your duties may change according to the needs of the units. You will also work closely with other principals in the municipality, and together with the municipality's quality developer, you form a management team led by the head of school. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have a university degree in education. It is an advantage if you have completed the principal training or other leadership training and have experience of working as a principal or have experience of other types of leadership assignments. You should be familiar with the preschool's governing documents and have good experience of leading systematic quality and work environment work. As a person, you need to be easy to cooperate and interact with others, be responsive, clear and have an ability for long-term strategic thinking.
