Do you want to inspire the next generation of musicians and create creative opportunities for children and young people in Jokkmokk? We are now looking for one or more committed and creative music teachers for our culture school! Jokkmokk's culture school is a creative meeting place for children and young people where we offer teaching in music and other artistic expressions. We work to strengthen the students' self-esteem and give them the opportunity to develop their talents in a safe and inspiring environment. The culture school is part of the culture and leisure department and works closely with, among others, the library and the leisure center to create a vibrant cultural life for Jokkmokk's inhabitants.
We are now looking for a music teacher to strengthen our team with access on 2025-02-03. The position can be adapted between 20-100% depending on your skills and availability.
WORK TASKS
As a music teacher at Jokkmokk's cultural school, you will:
Teach students individually and in groups in piano, singing, guitar and/or bass. Plan and lead lessons where students get to develop their musical abilities in a playful and engaging way.
Participate in the planning and execution of concerts, theme nights and other events where students can showcase their progress.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop the school's activities. Documenting pupils' progress and liaising with parents/guardians.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for people who:
Have a background in music, preferably through music education or equivalent experience.
Are confident in teaching singing and guitar or piano.
Have a willingness to develop and adapt teaching based on the students' conditions and interests.
Have experience of working with children and young people, or a strong interest in creating engagement and joy in music.
Are creative, responsible and used to working independently.
It is an advantage if you
Can play and teach other instruments.
experience in ensemble conducting and/or knowledge of music theory
