WORK TASKS As a building inspector/building permit officer, you will work with permit and supervision cases under the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code. In the role, you make independent decisions in accordance with current delegations and prepare cases for the Environment and Building Board. The work is done both in the office and in the field, in the central town and the surrounding villages. Your duties will involve - Working independently with processing, technical review and supervision in various cases within the department. - Lead consultations, carry out site visits and decide on permits, start notices and final notices - Provide service and information to the public - Work in close cooperation with the other staff of the office - Actively participate in the work to improve and develop the processes, procedures and working methods in the business In the role of building inspector, you have daily contacts with Kiruna's municipal residents, developers, inspection officers and contractors, which places high demands on you to have good cooperation and communication skills. You will work in several different computer systems, where our main tool is EDP Vision. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have a post-secondary education in urban planning, law, building inspector or as a building engineer. Experience of the Planning and Building Act, exercise of authority or similar is an advantage. The work of a building inspector involves a lot of contact with people. You therefore need to be service-oriented and have an outgoing approach. You communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and you express yourself well. Commitment, autonomy and structure are important qualities. You have an analytical mind, good decision-making skills and strong administrative skills. Knowledge of Kiruna's geography and social transformation is an advantage. As the administration is an important part of the intensive work on Kiruna's urban transformation, we attach great importance to your flexibility and willingness to change.
