DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The position involves working as a mother tongue teacher and study guide in the municipality's primary schools and at the reception unit for newly arrived students at the Language Center. Study guidance takes place in close cooperation with the school's or reception unit's teachers and is a way for the pupil to progress with the Swedish language while making use of the pupil's previous subject knowledge. You will be part of a team of other mother tongue teachers and study guides in several languages and in close collaboration with the reception unit staff. You will also work closely with primary school teachers in the various units. The position may include administrative tasks related to pupils and school work, as well as coordinating contacts with, among others, guardians, school staff and authorities. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you with a teaching qualification. You should have very good knowledge of Amharic and it is positive if you also master Tigrinya, you also need to have good knowledge of Swedish and meritorious if you have knowledge of English. You can express yourself clearly in both speech and writing. You have experience of working with the reception of newly arrived students, have pedagogical knowledge and experience and have good experience of pedagogical work with children and students in the Swedish school system. You are flexible, take initiative and can adapt your approach and actions to the situation. You have good collaboration skills, are independent and goal-oriented. We attach great importance to personal suitability. You need to be able to move between different units in your work and you may need to use your own car in the service.
