The municipal management administration is the municipality's central administration consisting of six departments responsible for financial, personnel and IT issues as well as urban development, service and leisure issues. The Municipal Executive Office is responsible, among other things, for the administrative services of the Municipal Executive Board and the Municipal Council.
We are now looking for a sustainability strategist to be based at the Municipal Executive Office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a sustainability strategist, you will develop the municipality's work with local environmental goals and the UN's global goals and support the organization to implement the solutions. As the position is new in Kiruna municipality, it means that you will develop a structure and a systematic approach to the municipality's sustainability work together with existing functions in the group.
You will coordinate and process manage the group's sustainability work to develop working methods, organization and schedule to implement our sustainability goals. You will also analyze and evaluate the work as a basis for prioritizing the Group's goals and activities. The starting point for the work is the UN's global goals and Agenda 2030. An important perspective is to follow the urban transformation and work to ensure that we can implement new appropriate sustainability solutions.
Kiruna municipality is a large municipality and sustainability work for the continued development of the countryside is a political priority.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you with an academic education with an environmental or sustainability focus or other education that we consider to be equivalent. You have experience in environmental, climate or sustainability work, preferably with a focus on social aspects, both at an operational and strategic level. You have previously worked with change management and it is an advantage if you have experience in project management.
The position is broad and you interact both internally and externally with different target groups, which means that you need to be responsive and relationship-building and have good collaboration skills. This also means that you need to be educational and communicative.
Since this is a newly established position, it is extra important that you are structured, proactive and curious as it means developing new working methods, processes, setting goals and creating new forms of collaboration.
You need to have very good knowledge of Swedish, both written and oral. Good knowledge of English is preferable. You feel confident working in various business systems, especially in Office, and it is an advantage if you have experience of processing statistics in Excel or other statistical tools.
Kiruna municipality is an administrative area for the three national minority languages Finnish, Meänkieli and Sami. This means that it is an advantage if you have knowledge of one of these languages.
