The IT department consists of a total of 26 people who work to support the municipality's core business and create a stable and secure IT environment both for the municipality's operations and for interaction with the outside world. It also includes Kiruna's city network Gironet.
The IT department's focus areas are technical support and troubleshooting, system administration, IT security, project management, development, business support and training. We work mostly with Windows platform in a virtual environment based on ESX/VMWare. Our goal is to ensure that the municipality's technical resources are used efficiently, securely and in line with the organization's goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Systems Technician with expertise in authorization management and technical application operations. As an IT Systems Engineer, you will work closely with our internal customers and with our other employees to ensure the smooth operation of business applications and the effective management of authorization management for our systems and applications.
The tasks consist of, among others:
- Customizing, configuring and administering our technical platforms for authorization management with associated connections to other systems and applications.
- Using MDM systems, monitor, maintain and version manage applications to ensure that they meet business requirements for confidentiality, availability and accuracy.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to application operation.
- Collaborate with other systems engineers, infrastructure engineers, workplace engineers, our IT Service Desk, vendors and other stakeholders to implement solutions, customizations and improvements.
- In appropriate technology areas and as a technical specialist, guide and support the municipality's core business in procurements, customizations and integrations as well as in contacts with suppliers and other technical stakeholders.
- Documenting and reporting technical solutions and work processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant education in IT or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in access control and user account management and authentication.
- Competence in technical operation and management of applications.
- Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Knowledge of some of our technical platforms;
o Microsoft Active Directory
o Microsoft Configuration Manager and Intune
o Entra/Entra ID
o IDP OneGate
o Powershell
o Microsoft Windows (workstations and servers)
o IOS & Android (mobile platforms)
o Chromebook (student computers)
o Any certification or specialized knowledge in these technology areas is a plus.
