LKAB processing Kiruna
Kiruna Ore Processing's mission is to process the ore from mine to finished product. The main parts of the process are screening, enrichment and pelletizing. The department consists of a total of eight sections, four of which are part of the main process and the other four are support sections in quality, technology and process development, material processes and Water and Dams. Your role
As an automation engineer, you work with maintenance and improvements of automation equipment and operating systems in the processing plants in Kiruna. You have a key role in ensuring the smooth running of production, as the control systems require high availability and safety. You will be part of a team of other engineers and will work closely with colleagues in Electrical/Automation, process engineers and UH engineers. Your input will be crucial to maintain a stable and efficient operating environment.

The tasks mainly consist of:

  • Working with ABB 800xA control system.
  • Process control and configuration.
  • Programming.
  • Optimization of measurement and control technology.
  • Switchgear control and development of communication solutions (Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet).
  • working with electrical engineering
  • Management of IT environments, including client-server systems (Windows, VMware).

What you bring
We are looking for a person who is collaborative and enjoys working in teams, while being able to handle stressful situations in a calm and efficient manner. You are structured and work methodically, with an ability to keep track of multiple tasks simultaneously. As an analytical and solution-oriented person, you are able to identify problems, find solutions and translate them into practical actions.

The appropriate level of competence is a college or university degree in automation, systems and control engineering or other equivalent education/experience. Equivalent means experience in programming, electrical/automation, process control, IT background with a focus on programming or similar.
Knowledge of process control systems in the automation area and other experience in automation and LKAB's process is meritorious. You will receive training, supervision and skills transfer in the parts that are needed.

The position requires

  • Passed high school grades

  • B-driving license

  • Good knowledge of Swedish and/or English.
