Your role

In the role, your main tasks will include:

  • Develop and improve LKAB:s governance and working methods in chemical management to ensure compliance with both internal and external requirements
  • Collaborate with several functions, including occupational health and safety, fire, environment and the operational business
  • Act as the main contact for questions and cooperation regarding chemical management, both internally and externally
  • Monitor legislation and the external environment in the field of chemicals
  • Administer chemical systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date information
  • Identify the need for training and, if necessary, commission or deliver training
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving applications for new chemicals in accordance with company guidelines and current legislation
  • Conduct annual registration of products in the Product Register
  • Participate in external chemical networks to keep up to date with best practice and news
  • When required, provide support to Seveso sites within LKAB
  • Administer REACH registration for both existing and new products

During your first time with us, you will be supported by the current chemical manager who is retiring but until then will act as a mentor in the field.

What you bring

We are looking for a committed and structured person for a central role where you will have many contacts both internally and externally. The work requires a strong focus on quality and the ability to work in an organized manner. It is of great importance that you have good social skills, are trustworthy and clear in your communication. We would like to see that you have work experience and are used to both taking on board opinions and managing them in a professional manner. At the same time, you must be able to explain and justify the company's positions in a factual and constructive manner. To thrive in the role, we expect you to be confident in your approach, collaborative and have a genuine interest in learning and developing.

We expect you to have:

  • Academic education in chemistry, toxicology, environment or equivalent
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
  • B-driving license which is a requirement for all positions at LKAB

Additional:

  • Knowledge of national and European regulations regarding chemicals
  • Experience from working with training, sustainability issues and chemical issues
  • Experience of working with a chemical system, for example Chemgroup pro
  • Knowledge of fire, for example handling of flammable goods
  • Experience from Seveso classified plant in higher requirement level
  • Experience or knowledge in registration of substances in REACH
