LKAB Malmtrafik

LKAB Malmtrafik is responsible for loading, unloading and transporting LKAB's iron ore products on the Ore Line. We ship from the mines in Kiruna and Malmberget to the ports in Luleå and Narvik, as well as to SSAB in Luleå.

Your role

As a diesel locomotive repairer, you have a crucial role in our locomotive workshop in Kiruna. Your work includes both preventive and emergency maintenance of our locomotive fleet to ensure traffic safety and operational reliability. You'll carry out planned overhauls and repairs, as well as dealing with emergencies, which may sometimes involve going out to the site of the locomotive. The work involves problem solving and identifying effective solutions to quickly get the locomotives back in operation.

An important part of the role is to document the work performed and ensure that they meet the requirements for traffic safety set by both LKAB and the Swedish Transport Administration. You work both independently and in collaboration with a team of repairers, engineers, planners and managers to develop and improve our work processes. Since the work often takes place on its own, both in the workshop and out in the field, a flexible and solution-oriented approach is required. The role also offers opportunities for development through both internal and external training.

What you bring to the table

You are self-driven and used to taking responsibility for driving your work forward, which is crucial in a role where you often work alone during your shift. You enjoy working independently and are confident in making your own decisions to solve problems and ensure high quality work. You have a structured and accurate approach to your work, while being a team player who enjoys working with others to achieve common goals. You are flexible and solution-oriented, which is crucial in a role where tasks can vary from day to day.

In addition, we see that you have:

• B-driving license
• High school education with a practical focus in electricity, mechanics, vehicles or the equivalent
• Master Swedish in speech and writing

It is meritorious if you have:

• High school education in heavy vehicle mechanics (meritorious)
• Work experience in electricity or heavy vehicle mechanics (meritorious)
• Work experience from railways (meritorious)

The position requires that you meet certain health requirements, such as good vision, normal color vision and good hearing.
