Are you a driven and solution-oriented environmental engineer with a passion for environmental legislation? With us at LKAB, you will have a key role in our Logistics unit, where you actively contribute to shaping and developing our environmental work. If you have experience in environmental work and want to make a real difference, this is a great opportunity for you!

The most important job of the future

We want to lead the transformation of our industry towards a sustainable future. And just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone on the journey with us, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?

Every year, LKAB transports about 26 million tons of iron ore products via the Ore Line to the ports of Narvik and Luleå. LKAB's logistics area consists of the ports of Luleå and Narvik and the Ore Line from Luleå to Narvik, which is operated by LKAB Malmtrafik. Operations in Luleå include Malmhamnen, where LKAB's products are unloaded from trains and loaded onto ships. The bentonite plant handles storage, drying, grinding, loading and sampling of bentonite. At the energy depot in Uddebo, inputs are stored in tanks, from where they are loaded onto railway wagons after storage.

Your role

As an environmental engineer at our Logistics unit, you will play a central role in supporting our managers in their environmental work and ensuring that we comply with applicable laws and environmental requirements. You will be responsible for self-monitoring activities, which means that you plan and carry out measurements, as well as follow up, compile and report environmental data.

The role also includes actively participating in working groups and development projects, where you contribute with your expertise. You will have ongoing contact with relevant authorities and in particular be responsible for the environmental work at Luleå ore port and its related activities.

As an environmental engineer at Logistics, you will work closely with other environmental engineers at LKAB.

This is what you bring

  • A relevant academic education in the environment
  • You have knowledge of current environmental legislation, including Seveso
  • We would like you to have a few years of experience in similar tasks
  • B-driving license is a requirement for all positions at LKAB

To succeed in this role, we are looking for you who are an independent person with a strong ability to drive processes and take your own initiatives. You enjoy having many contact surfaces, both internally and externally. You have analytical skills and like to work in a structured way, which means that you ensure that tasks are carried out in an efficient and thorough manner.

This is what you get

  • Reward program
  • Free training at LKAB:s own gym and at our partners at the sites in Norrbotten
  • Free health care allowance and study support as well as access to art association, leisure association, mountain cabins and family activities
