Your role

As Head of Permitting Strategy and Social Sustainability, you will lead and develop strategic initiatives that strengthen LKAB's processes such as environmental permitting within the framework of our strategy, ensure effective management of permits and regulatory processes, stakeholder management, materiality analysis, follow-up of the business's fulfillment of requirements within the framework of CSRD linked to social sustainability, implementation of SCDDD, develop and be responsible for LKAB's work with Sami villages and community engagement with a focus on stakeholder management methods.

You will work closely with line and management teams and other key stakeholders to integrate social sustainability into all parts of the business and ensure compliance with necessary permits and regulations. Your leadership will be crucial in creating tangible, positive impacts for our employees, customers and society at large. Dialogue and contacts with external stakeholders will be an important part of the role to strategically develop ways of working and proactive methods.

Main tasks include:

  • Design and implement strategies and working methods for short and long term licensing processes
  • Develop and implement ways of working that comply with CSDDD, Due diligence and promote human rights.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement practices in the context of licensing and day-to-day operations as well as some operational responsibility for conducting stakeholder dialogues.
  • Lead projects, R&D and initiatives in diversity, inclusion and community engagement.
  • Ensure that licensing and regulatory requirements are met and integrated into the business.
  • Interact with authorities and stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and authorizations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators and results related to social sustainability and permitting issues.

A collaborative approach is essential, and you should be a good communicator both internally and externally. We are looking for a confident and inspiring person who can lead with both stability and commitment.

To succeed in the role of Manager in Permit Strategy and Social Sustainability, we also look for you to have:

  • Higher education in a relevant field, e.g. natural sciences, social sciences, or law.
  • Extensive experience in leading teams of experienced employees with in-depth expertise.
  • Several years of experience (10 years) working with permits in heavy industry with regard to Swedish regulations and permit management linked to community building and social projects.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish environmental law.
  • Strong communication skills and experience of working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading change
  • A proactive, inclusive, inspiring and result-oriented approach.

We see it as a strength if you have experience of Swedish basic industry, preferably mining.
