LKAB processing Kiruna

Kiruna Ore Processing's mission is to process the ore from mine to finished product. The main parts of the process are screening, enrichment and pelletizing. The department consists of a total of eight sections, four of which are part of the main process and the other four are support sections in quality, technology and process development, material processes and Water and Dams. Your role
As a Preventive Maintenance Engineer (PM), you work to ensure the reliability and safety of machines and plants in the processing department. You do this through technical analysis, strategies and proactive work. You will play a key role in identifying risks and areas for improvement in existing PM procedures, implementing effective PM programs, and ensuring that equipment, facilities and systems comply with applicable standards and regulations. You will be part of a team with other engineers, allowing for collaboration and exchange of ideas that will strengthen the efforts of the whole team.

Your main tasks are to:

  • Ensure that the right O&M program is implemented and that our maintenance process is efficient and optimized.
  • Conduct risk analysis and identify potential failures and risks using tools such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), IFS and Plant Performance.
  • Develop and improve R & D programs and provide technical support and training to staff.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize implemented strategies to improve machine/plant reliability and reduce failures.
  • Be the point of excellence in your field, both internally and towards suppliers.

With your structured approach, you ensure that projects are driven forward in an efficient and organized manner.


We would like you to have an engineering degree with a college or university degree with a focus on industry, process or maintenance or relevant experience in the maintenance or process industry that can contribute to your success in the position.
