The most important job of the future

We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and minerals industry?

About the role

Your mission as Production Manager is to be responsible for terminal handling of LKAB's iron ore products. This includes loading, unloading and train formation of ore cars and locomotives according to LKAB's established plans together with your colleagues in the shift team. You are responsible for the management, coordination and development of the staff group. You set goals and support employees in their daily work.

As we are several shift production managers at the same workplace, we expect a well-functioning collaboration. You communicate and work for the good of the entire workplace. You are responsible for ensuring the staffing needs for the day-to-day operation of the terminal as well as ensuring the skills development of your staff to meet current and future requirements. Performance monitoring and development of operations are part of the job.

You will be supported by your immediate manager and managerial colleagues, as well as other support in specific areas such as road safety, training and HR. The area of responsibility is terminal handling in Kiruna and Svappavaara, with stationing in Kiruna.

As Production Manager, you have personnel and work environment responsibility for your employees and you work in close cooperation with other parts of the business such as operational maintenance and operational planning, and not least your closest managerial colleagues. We work continuously to improve and adapt both the organization and working methods based on current but also future conditions. You will be part of the management team for the Kiruna and Svappavaara terminals, which consists of managers from both operations and maintenance. We work closely together with the feeling of strong community and that no one is stronger than the weakest link.

Your qualifications:

  • We would like to see that you have some kind of previous leadership or management experience
  • Successful completion of upper secondary education
  • B driving license
  • Experience from the railroad such as terminal, track or locomotive driver competence, is meritorious, but it is not a requirement

We are looking for you who are confident in yourself and have good leadership skills. You want to work with people and are driven to see both yourself and your employees grow. You also like to drive development in a positive spirit. Important qualities are high commitment and the ability to make decisions. Other qualities needed for the work are to collaborate, communicate, prioritize and coordinate, but also to plan and manage your everyday life in a sustainable way.
