LKAB Malmtrafik AB transports LKAB's iron ore products to the ports of Luleå and Narvik using its own locomotives and wagons. Malmtrafik's tasks also include maintenance and repairs of locomotives, wagons and tracks as well as supervision, preparation and train formation at the terminals in Kiruna, Malmberget and Svappavaara.

Your role

For the summer, we need the help of positive and committed employees who can replace our regular staff as terminal workers at our railway yards in Kiruna/Svappavaara and in Malmberget when they go on vacation.

Your everyday life as a terminal worker:

• Loading, unloading and switching of our train wagons
• Arrival inspection and brake testing of arriving and departing trains
• Overall operator maintenance on our facilities

Extension may be possible after the summer and in the long term there is the possibility of further skills development in the form of locomotive driver training to be able to drive locomotives inside our terminal areas.

What you bring with you

In order for you to fit into the role of summer substitute with us, you thrive on taking responsibility and you always have a high safety mindset. You should also enjoy working outdoors in all weathers and seasons. Whether working in a team or independently, you must have good cooperation and communication skills. As our activities require a longer training period and training, applicants must be able to start working at the beginning of April 2025.

• You must be 18 years old and have a driving license in good time before your temporary position begins
• You must have a good command of the Swedish language in speech and writing
• You should have an approved upper secondary school diploma
• Previous work experience from similar work or railroad (meritorious)

Terminal worker is a security service and therefore you need to pass a selection test and meet certain health requirements such as good vision, normal color vision and good hearing.
