LKAB Malmtrafik

LKAB Malmtrafik is responsible for loading, unloading and transporting LKAB's iron ore products on the Ore Line. We transport from the mines in Kiruna and Malmberget to the ports of Luleå and Narvik, as well as to SSAB in Luleå.

Your role

As a train driver with us, you become part of our whole and contribute to the smooth running of our high-tech mining and mineral group. As a train driver with us, you will drive ore trains along the Ore Line and the Ofoten Line. Your working day also includes tasks such as shunting, departure sewing, train set preparation and brake testing of our wagons.

The service involves irregular shift work and night work. We offer two types of schedules: a rolling 6-week schedule with 2 weeks off and a compressed schedule where you work 8 days followed by 6 days off. This role will start with a rolling 6-week schedule and thus we look for the employee to live at or near the stationing location. We look forward to discussing scheduling in more detail during the interview.

You work independently and enjoy working alone, but also collaborate with others to solve problems that may arise in the work as a train driver. You are responsible and always put safety first, and are used to working in a solution-focused way and are driven to learn more. We believe in you and your capabilities and give you both confidence and freedom to develop and grow.

In addition, you have:

• Locomotive license
• Approved upper secondary education
• B-driving license as it is a requirement for all LKAB:s services
• Mastery of Swedish language in speech and writing
• Looking type certificate for IORE (meritorious)
• Trained locomotive instructor or driving teacher (meritorious)
