Subject description The subject of energy technology covers the development of technologies and processes for a sustainable energy supply. The research is focused on biofuel technology and energy efficient utilization in industry and society. Duties and responsibilities The position includes establishing and conducting research in our energy systems area with a particular focus on the role of hydrogen in the energy system. As an assistant professor, you are expected to strengthen research and postgraduate education in the area and contribute with expertise in the field of hydrogen to complement the area's current research profile. The position includes responsibility for research and supervision of PhD students. An important task within the position is to actively participate in the university's investment in the hydrogen area within the framework of LTU's Center for Hydrogen Energy Systems Sweden (CH2ESS) where you are expected to contribute to: - Conducting needs-driven, excellent research and creating collaborations and seeking external funds to finance and expand research in the field of energy technology as well as in other hydrogen-relevant subject areas. The research within CH2ESS covers the entire hydrogen value chain, i.e. energy supply, production, distribution, storage and use of hydrogen. - Development of new education in collaboration with colleagues at LTU as well as with other actors in society. - Develop national and international networks to support the development of the hydrogen field. Qualifications Qualified to be employed as an assistant professor are those who have demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical skills. Equal attention shall be paid to the assessment of pedagogical and scientific skills. To meet the requirements for appointment as an assistant professor, the applicant shall - demonstrate a research profile with clear progression after the thesis work and scientific contributions equivalent to at least two doctoral theses including the doctoral thesis - have worked as an independent researcher, including - experience of research-related positions of trust, for example as a reviewer for journals and/or opponent - experience of applying for and being awarded external funding for research and/or development projects in competition - experience of having had a leading role in research projects - having published together with researchers in research environments other than your own - have experience of supervision at doctoral level and have acted as co-supervisor for at least one doctoral student for at least two years, unless there are exceptional reasons for otherwise - demonstrate pedagogical competence through reflective experience, teaching skills and teaching development - have completed a course in higher education pedagogy equivalent to 7.5 credits, or have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way - demonstrate the ability to interact with the surrounding society, for example by - making new knowledge available to the surrounding community - incorporating societal needs into research and/or educational contexts.
