We are now looking for a Lecturer in Medical Science to teach and examine students on the Nursing Program, X-ray Nursing Program, Specialist Nursing Program, Physiotherapy Program and Occupational Therapy Program in Medical Science. The main focus of teaching will be medical science within the above educational programs, and teaching will take place both on campus and via online platforms. As a Lecturer in Medical Science, you will be responsible, together with other teachers, for the development of the subject at both undergraduate and advanced levels.
Subject description
Medical science is included in the nursing program, radiology nursing program, physiotherapy program, occupational therapy program, health counselor program and all specialist nursing programs. Medical science is a broad subject area that includes: anatomy, physiology, pathology, immunology, microbiology including medical hygiene and pharmacology.
Duties and responsibilities
The tasks will mainly consist of teaching and examinations in medical science. Teaching will take place in the Department of Health, Medicine and Rehabilitation (HMR) and the Department of Nursing and Medical Technology (OMTk). The applicant is also expected to actively participate in institutional work, in program and course development, and to follow developments and research developments in the subject. The position also includes responsibility for and active participation in collaboration with the surrounding community.
Qualifications
To meet the requirements for employment as a lecturer in medical science, the applicant must
- have completed a medical degree
- have experience of clinical work as a doctor
- experience in teaching in university programs
Information to be provided
The position is temporary (SÄVA) with a scope of 20% during the period 2025-08-15 up to and including 2026-06-30 or as agreed and with the possibility of extension. Place of employment: Luleå.
