The Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics is now looking for up to 15 students to work as amanuenses (teachers) in the so-called "Proppen". Proppen, or Propedeutic Course in Mathematics, is a refresher course in mathematics organized during the reception of the newly admitted students. Proppen is an opportunity for new students to refresh their mathematical knowledge, while getting to know their new class. Duties and responsibilities As an amanuensis, you will prepare and lead counting exercises, where you count through examples, and answer students' questions. The design and implementation of the calculation exercises will be done together with the course coordinators from the Mathematical Sciences division. Competence and experience You should be a student at LTU and have good grades in the basic courses in mathematics for civil engineers (Math 1-3). You should have an interest in communicating and discussing mathematics. High grades and additional completed course credits in mathematics are meritorious. Experience in teaching or other leadership experience is also an advantage. Conditions of employment Employment as a lecturer is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who have been admitted to first- or second-cycle education may be employed as a lecturer (HF Chapter 5 §10). Hourly wage/compensation For all assignments, you will receive an hourly wage and valuable work experience for your CV. The hourly wage is SEK 131/hour. In addition to the hourly rate, vacation pay is paid in accordance with the Vacation Act. Information about the position The position is full-time during weekdays in the period 21-29 August 2025. It includes both teaching and preparation time. You will receive an hourly wage. In addition to the hourly salary, vacation compensation is paid according to the Annual Holidays Act. Place of employment campus in Luleå (possibly a service on campus in Skellefteå).
