Our research is focused on biofuel technology and energy efficient utilization in industry and society. We collaborate with companies/industries in research and student projects. Our research is of a high international standard and we collaborate with researchers worldwide. Project description The main research will focus on integration and optimization of heat flows for future production systems in the mining industry. The aim of the project is to explore possible integrations of heat streams in a new steel production process, where hydrogen replaces the fossil fuel compared to the conventional process. The utilization of the heat streams can be both internally within the production system and externally with the surrounding community. The project is funded by LKAB's foundation for sustainable transition of the mining and mineral sector and is carried out in close collaboration with the control engineering subject at Luleå University of Technology.
