The research subject Machine Learning led by Professor Marcus Liwicki with a focus on applied artificial intelligence (AI) is expanding with new projects, teaching and collaborations and is now offering a position as a research engineer. Subject description Machine learning focuses on methods by which computer systems use data to improve their own performance, understanding and to make concrete predictions and is closely related to applications. Duties and responsibilities Co-working in projects focusing on applied AI, especially deep learning in the area of Pattern Recognition (e.g., natural language processing, document processing, physiological signals, unsupervised learning, and tinyML). Helping as an assistant in teaching. Posting materials on social media, enhancing video materials and assignments in AI courses. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a research engineer, you must have a degree in AI, with an advantage if the focus is applied. Experience in teaching in higher education is required. The following assessment criteria apply to the position: - Scientific excellence in the fields mentioned. - teaching experience as an assistant, in machine learning - experience of working in research projects - experience in practical work with students - Good oral and written communication skills.
