Subject description Electric Power Engineering covers the study of sustainable systems for electricity generation, transportation of electrical energy and the interaction between electricity grids, electricity generation and electricity use. Duties and responsibilities The position of Professor and Head of Subject includes overall responsibility for leading and developing the subject, including research, doctoral education and education at first and second cycle. The Professor and Head of Subject has a special responsibility for securing funding for the activities and for contacts with the surrounding society. An important task is to build a strong research subject where the group of collaborators grows and develops. The position of Professor and Head of Subject is a permanent position. Eligibility Those who have demonstrated both scientific and teaching expertise are eligible for appointment as professor. Equal attention shall be paid to the assessment of pedagogical and scientific competence. To meet the requirements for appointment as professor, the applicant shall - be outstanding in his/her field of study and demonstrate scientific activity of a high international standard, showing a clear progression in quality - have a total scholarly output equivalent in quantity to at least three doctoral theses including the doctoral dissertation - demonstrate academic leadership, including through - experience of research-related positions of trust as an expert, opponent and/or member of an examination committee - experience in research project management - experience of applying for and being awarded external funding for research projects in competition as principal applicant - experience of internal assignments within the university - experience of pedagogical leadership - have experience of supervision at doctoral level and, unless there are exceptional reasons, have been the principal supervisor of at least one doctoral student throughout the period from admission to the doctoral degree - demonstrate pedagogical skills through reflective experience, teaching skills and teaching development - demonstrate the ability to collaborate with the surrounding society, through, among other things - making new knowledge available to the surrounding community - incorporating societal needs into research and/or educational contexts. In addition to the eligibility requirements for professors, when recruiting professors and chairs, particular emphasis shall be placed on leadership skills, including - self-awareness and ability to reflect on own leadership experience - demonstrating experience of budgetary or other financial responsibility. Within a three-year period, we would like to see that you can communicate in Swedish.
