Operations and maintenance engineering is a rapidly growing field of research and has a significant role for industry worldwide. For many industries, maintenance costs are one of the largest costs of doing business. Through well-planned maintenance, external and internal operational risks can also be managed and minimized.
Duties and responsibilities
We are looking for three people who will work together with other researchers to develop our platform 'AI Factory' at the Department of Operations and Maintenance Engineering. The work is part of a number of externally funded projects in areas such as rail, battery, construction and mining. The development work will focus on developing AI algorithms, developing applications on Raspberry PI, integrating Cloud-IoT, developing the visualization interface using AR, VR and gaming technologies, and further developing our cybersecurity platform using Blockchain. The main task will be data collection, data security, data analysis and visualization using applicable methods and technologies in a cloud/edge-based development environment.
Qualifications
To be considered for employment, you should be a student at university level in maintenance engineering, computer engineering, engineering physics, or equivalent. You should have an academic background in data analytics, software development and cloud computing and you should have experience with tools and environments such as Python, Julia, Matlab, JavaScript, C#, Blockchain, Azure and Visual Studio.
We attach great importance to personal qualities. As a person, you achieve results, communicate and collaborate with other people in a trusting way. Good knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written is a requirement.
Information about the position
Temporary employment as a research engineer for three months (June 1 to August 31, 2025). Place of employment is Luleå. The position is full-time.
