The Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering at Luleå University of Technology is looking for a Senior Lecturer with expertise in research on cementitious materials, including self-healing and nuclear shielding concrete, bio-based cementitious materials and 3D concrete printing, as well as teaching in concrete and building material properties including building physics aspects. Subject description
Building Materials includes sustainable building materials and their application, recycling and reuse, and applied building physics, with a particular focus on Arctic conditions.
Work tasks
Supervision and co-supervision of Master's and PhD students, research, teaching and application for funding of research projects.
Eligibility
To meet the requirements for eligibility as a Senior Lecturer, the applicant must:
- have a doctorate or equivalent academic qualifications[1] or other professional skills relevant to the post
- demonstrate pedagogical competence through proven experience, teaching skills and pedagogical development[2]
- have completed a higher education pedagogy course of at least 7.5 credits or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.

- You must have a doctorate in building materials.
- Experience with cementitious materials from biomass and knowledge of 3D concrete printing is also required. In addition, knowledge of image analysis and material characterization using advanced experimental methods is meritorious.
- Knowledge of digital teaching tools is a requirement, along with demonstrable expertise in designing and delivering practical laboratory activities in concrete.
- You should have experience in developing methods and tools to analyze multifunctional concrete properties, including self-healing, electrical conductivity and electromagnetic/nuclear shielding.
- You should have experience in teaching building materials, with an emphasis on building physics aspects such as heat and moisture transfer.
- You must demonstrate a proven track record in securing research funding from Swedish funding agencies, organizing academic conferences and workshops with various stakeholders, and disseminating scientific results through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, social media and websites.
