At the Information Systems research group at Luleå University of Technology, we have a need to hire a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems with a focus on digital service development and rural areas. The Information Systems research group is part of the Division of Digital Services and Systems which also includes the Center for Distance-Spanning Technologies and the Center for Security in Society and Critical Infrastructures. The division consists of about 35 employees including researchers, teachers and project managers. The position as Senior Lecturer is at the Department of Systems and Space Engineering, where Luleå University of Technology has gathered research in, among other things, computer science, information systems, signals and systems, and automation. The department's turnover is approximately SEK 220 million, of which education accounts for half and external funds for research for the other half. The department has well-developed collaborations with research institutes, industrial partners, universities and other authorities in both research projects and student projects. The environment at the department is open, dynamic and brings together researchers from about twenty different nationalities as well as PhD students and students from all over the world. Job description Digital Service Development focuses on societal and individual aspects related to digital transformation and innovation. This research area is based on systems and critical systems thinking, value-creating design, norm-critical design, participatory design, participatory design and sustainability theories. Digital service development aims to influence, anticipate and assess real, as well as potential, consequences and societal expectations of digitalization with the aim of promoting inclusive and sustainable research and innovation. Research is conducted in four areas that complement and contribute to each other: societal digital change, living labs and testbeds, human-centered design and innovation, digitalization and sustainability. As Senior Lecturer in Information Systems with a focus on digital service development and rural areas, you are responsible, together with professors and others in the subject, for the development of the subject at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. You are expected to strengthen our research and education profile and contribute to establishing the area internally both in terms of existing and future education programs and as a research area on our campus in Luleå. Specifically important for this lecturer position is a close relationship and collaboration with actors in the region and the surrounding society. The service means that you will: - Responsible for developing, teaching and examining courses in digital service development. - Supervise students and follow the international development of the subject - Work on research tasks (e.g. applying for external research funding, leading and collaborating in research projects, communicating and disseminating research results via academic publications) - Networking and collaborating with stakeholders in the region and nationally - Be active in the research community in your own subject Eligibility Qualified to be employed as a senior lecturer are those who: - A doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualifications - Demonstrated teaching skills - Completed training in higher education pedagogy equivalent to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge Assessment criteria The following assessment criteria apply to the position: - Scientific excellence - Teaching skills - Other assessment criteria Other assessment criteria (weighted equally): - Ability to lead and develop research initiatives - Experience in research projects related to living labs - Experience in digital service development and rural development - Experience in teaching - Ability to collaborate with the surrounding community - Ability to collaborate within the university - Ability to obtain external funding for research and development - Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both oral and written. - Proven ability to promote and establish new research areas.
