The Department of Health, Learning and Technology (HLT) is an academic meeting place where scientific perspectives on knowledge about learning and health are brought together. The department offers degree programs at bachelor's, master's and master's level and in several subjects also education at doctoral level leading to a doctoral degree. HLT offers many programs and courses in the humanities and natural sciences. The Department of Education, Language and Subject Didactics (PSÄ) has extensive activities with research, development and teaching in undergraduate education, contract education and independent courses linked to teacher education, preschool and school. We intend to strengthen the subject competence in the field of Swedish with a didactic focus and are now looking for a senior lecturer with expertise in literacy development and young children's language and communication. Subject description Language and literature with a didactic focus has its emphasis on research in relation to language and literature in schools, subject didactics and the content of teacher education. The research includes cultural, literary and linguistic perspectives. Central objects of study are didactic aspects of children's, young people's and adults' communicative practices and conditions for language development as well as cultural and literary socialization. The research is mainly practice-oriented, primarily involves the school subjects Swedish and English, and is characterized by collaboration with those active in school practice. Work tasks In your role as senior lecturer, you will mainly work with teaching in teacher education and then mainly in the subject Swedish for student teachers at the basic level in the basic teacher programs F-3 and 4-6, independent courses and supervision of degree projects in teacher education. You will have an important role in our development and quality work and bring experience to the relevant areas of activity. You are expected to be involved in research environments, in research projects and, where appropriate, in doctoral education. It is of great importance that you feel comfortable in communicating research results through academic publications. Furthermore, interaction with the surrounding society is an important part of the tasks and to follow the international development of the subject. You will be expected to participate in/show interest in management and administrative tasks. The following are eligible for appointment as Senior Lecturer - have a doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualifications or other professional skills relevant to the post - demonstrated pedagogical competence through reflective experience, teaching skills and teaching development - completed training in higher education pedagogy equivalent to 7.5 credits or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge Assessment criteria The following assessment criteria apply to the post: - Scientific excellence - Teaching skills - Other assessment criteria Other assessment criteria (weighted in descending order): - Degree of competence required for eligibility - Teaching qualification for Swedish schools and documented teaching experience in primary teacher education - Expertise in research on the conditions of national minorities in school activities - Ability to obtain external research and development funding - Documented teaching experience in educational science core (UVK) and clinical placement (VFU) - Documented experience of supervising independent projects - Documented experience of teaching Swedish in compulsory school and experience of teaching multilingualism and Swedish as a second language - Administrative skills that are of importance with regard to the subject content and the tasks included in the position and the ability to interact with the surrounding community The position also requires good ability to use digital teaching tools, digital research tools and digital administrative systems. In addition, very good knowledge of Swedish and English is required. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. Information about the position The position is permanent and full-time.
