The research subject Ore Geology belongs to the Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering, where research and education in the fields of mining, construction and environment contribute to the development of a long-term sustainable society. Ore geology encompasses the use, behavior, occurrence and mode of formation of naturally occurring economic concentrations of metallic raw materials. The research aims to describe the geological conditions that lead to mineable concentrations of minerals, and how these minerals and their host rocks can be used for sustainable societal development.
The group working in ore geology now needs to be strengthened with a person with knowledge of the entire mineral value chain from exploration, mining and enrichment, to processing and environmental impact, as well as knowledge of programming.
Project description
The focus of the project will be to develop a prototype for a pedagogically effective and technically reliable learning platform for industry and academia with activities in the mining value chain.
Duties and responsibilities
As a Senior Research Engineer, you will mainly develop an educational learning platform, which includes coding, asset creation and integration of different systems such as databases and back-end infrastructure.
Qualifications
To be eligible for employment, a university degree in the subject is required. A PhD in a mining-related field is an advantage.

The position is 100% with location, Luleå. The employment lasts until June 30, with the possibility of extension. At Luleå University of Technology, there is the possibility of working remotely for part of the working hours. Access as soon as possible.
