We are now looking for SI leaders for hourly employment at Luleå University of Technology. SI stands for Supplemental Instruction or collaborative learning. The method means that first-year students collaborate in group activities in a so-called SI session. With the guidance of SI leaders, students process material from the course lesson or lecture.
As an SI leader, you will supervise and support first-year students using the collaborative learning method. You will plan and implement one SI session per week for 5-15 students and will engage and motivate students to interact together using various group activities.
As an SI leader, you will receive training and guidance from educators, knowledge of modern leadership and valuable work experience for your CV. You will receive a two-day SI leader training course free of charge.
We are looking for SI leaders for lp 1 and lp 2 in the fall of 2025 and lp 3 and lp 4 in the spring of 2026. The SI leader training consists of two mandatory training sessions, preliminary Tuesday 26/8 and Thursday 28/8.
Qualifications
You are a registered student at Luleå University of Technology. You are at least a second-year student and have good study results from the current course. Experience of supervising and motivating other people is an advantage. You are interested in learning and leadership and see the benefit of learning together in groups. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English. You will conduct the SI sessions in Swedish.
Scope and location
We are continuously looking for students who want to work as an hourly employed SI leader, at least one study period or longer. The employment covers approximately 20-25 working hours per study period. For the assignment, you will receive an hourly wage of SEK 171/hour. In addition to the hourly wage, holiday pay is paid in accordance with the Swedish Holiday Act.
